Biography

Kangda Zhi received the B.Eng degree from the School of Communication and Information Engineering, Shanghai University, Shanghai, China, in 2017, the M.Eng degree from School of Information Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, in 2020, and the Ph.D. degree from the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, Queen Mary University of London, U.K., in 2023.

He is currently a Marie Curie Research Fellow with the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Technical University of Berlin, Germany.

His research interests include next-generation MIMO systems, reconfigurable intelligent surface, sensing and estimation, and near-field communications.

He is an Editor of IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON COMMUNICATIONS and IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON VEHICULAR TECHNOLOGY. He also serves as a Guest Editor for IEEE NETWORK and a Guest Editor for EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking.

He received the 2026 IEEE ComSoc CTTC Andrea Goldsmith Young Scholars Award, 2025 IEEE ComSoc Heinrich Hertz Award for Best Communications Letter, 2025 IEEE ComSoc Europe, Middle-East & Africa (EMEA) Outstanding Young Researcher Award, and 2024 Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship funded by European Commission.
